Short and sweet

It is Boxing Day.  We have the house to ourselves.  December has been busy and we are looking forward to taking time out and resting before our wedding madness truly kicks in in February.  Even though I promised myself that I would take it slow in December it was chaotic and full on.  Added into the mix was unexpectedly flying to another city for a job interview, getting the job and then resigning.  All in the week before Christmas.  Not something I would recommend.  So from February 2013 my working life will be split between two cities on two islands.  I am excited, nervous and looking forward to the challenge – of a new job, new city and maintaining a wonderful relationship with my soon to be hubby! 2013 is going to be a great year.  Bring it on.

But, back to the present…

We had a wonderful day yesterday with a house bursting at the seams with family, good food, laughter and so, so much sunshine.  Who knew we could get 28 degrees in Wellington!!!

The day started like this with a walk with Mum along the river.  A hot and sticky start to the day – but a great way to set the scene for a wonderful summer Christmas.

The calmness disappeared with arrival of littlies, popping of champagne corks, opening of presents and skyping London .  This is what Christmas looks like in my house.  I wouldn’t have it any other way.
