High Tea: Louis Sergeant

To celebrate the completion of my very first contract as an Independent Consultant, we went out for high tea to Louis Sergeant. In my family we love a good high tea, which is evidenced on this very blog here.  To be honest I don’t really need a special occasion to trot off to a high tea.  I like feeling like an elegant lady for a small moment of time as tiny parcels of gorgeous food are placed in front of you.

Actually to be honest I am surprised I haven’t blogged more about high tea’s given I have had them regularly at these places:

Hmm, maybe I need to revisit my favs to ensure this blog is reflective of actual experience?!

So, as it was a relatively special occasion we booked in for a high tea at Louis Sergeant.  If you are ever in Wellington you have to visit this place.  Aside from the cakes being absolutely beautiful, they taste good – and non pastry items on the menu are also very tasty.  It was full when we arrived.  I have been here in the past and it was very busy then too.  It is always great to see new businesses busy – and this one, deservedly so.

We opted for a Bubbly High Tea at $45 per head.  It was lovely, although slightly let down by several of the savoury items being served on plastic spoons, and another in the equivalent of a plastic shot glass.  Other than these things, the service was great – quick, friendly and efficient.  There is a great selection of teas – which are served in lovely china.  And the food?  The food is just divine.  It tastes wonderful, and looks pretty amazing too.  Check it out – it is a lovely way to while away a leisurely afternoon.

Here are a few pics of the pastry cabinet and the High Tea.

It is well worth it Susan. I have to admit everything looks so lovely – it is hard to stop at one pastry!
