It was my nephew’s birthday on Thursday. G turned 14. He is a wonderful boy who is becoming a really lovely young man. He was proactive with his present lists this year and circulated gift ideas early. We got him a voucher so he can go and choose what he wants. I have to say it is pretty hard choosing pressies for teenage boys. I suspect my tastes are far removed from his.
Every year I also do a lighthearted gift. This year, because I had a bit of time on my hands, I pulled together a coupon book full of treats – and lovely things like coupons for a kiss from his favourite Aunt – me! But it was also a good opportunity to include activities we like doing together, but which often don’t make it onto our respective busy calendars – things like movies, pizza making lessons, sushi. This is a great budget friendly gift which you can tailor to your own circumstances.
After much searching I found a great template at kodak, it was easy to use and came up a treat. And because I wanted to make the coupon book extra special I took to it with glue and glitter. Just what every 14 year old boy wants and needs.
Happy Birthday G!
