A good weekend

A and I had a wonderful weekend away.  While the weather wasn’t so great, it was good to spend some time together – just us.  Here are a few pics from our mini break.  The train ride over was heaven.  This was the view.

Friday night it was very cold and foggy.  It was strange to walk down the street and not see very far at all.  A cold, thick soupy kind of night.  We felt like we had the night to ourselves.

The theme of the weekend turned out to be good food and good company.  Kicking off with decadent bubbles on Friday night.

Saturday morning started with breakfast at The Main Street Deli.  Lovely porridge/oats accompanied by lovely maple/cinnamon syrup and milk was my top-notch choice.  A chose a proper man’s brekky!

We then stopped off at the French Baker for bread and more goodness for the afternoon.  I managed to forget taking photos of the rest of our delights in Greytown.  For a nice, quiet weekend away Greytown ticked all the boxes for us.

Once I got home I went and collected my gorgeous niece – Ms I – and we went off to the local gallery – The Dowse Art Museum.  A and I are also getting married here too next year. I was a bit nervous about taking a 2-year-old to a gallery, but she was great.  We held hands and had our listening ears on the whole time.  No accidents at all! I was very proud.

The best part of it – she loved seeing the different exhibitions.  We spent quite a bit of time exploring the main galleries and then discovered the children’s area.  A great afternoon out.
